Energis

Energis A Telco venture backed by the National Grid, Energis was the UK's first operator to challenge the BT and Mercury duopoly. A European first, the wholly owned SDH network was rolled out on a fibre optic backbone. This gave full coverage of the UK across existing transmission lines. The approach was innovative at the time and set the standard for UK telecom firms to follow, with a process-centric customer-focused approach. T-Impact provided a managed delivery service integrating all key business support systems to support Energis™ aggressive product launch plans.

Challenge

  • Their launch focused on SME/SOHO and consumers with specific products focused at each. Soon followed by their corporate product (eg. VPN).
  • Energis had planned to outsource all IT capability but months before launch had to change strategy and build an internal IT department.
  • Sought a provider who could provide a managed service to help acquire, implement and integrate the chosen systems.

Project Scope

  • Our first assignment was to define customisations required to packages supporting order management, customer service and billing processes
  • Energis recognised the value generated and asked us to assume responsibility for end-to-end integration through launch.
  • After launch, provided outsourced service for on-going enhancements and integration of in-house and package applications, including:
    • Sales Order management
    • Mediation
    • Billing
    • Call centre & CRM Interconnect
  • We provided managed services for 4 years and assisted in definition of internal team to take over day-to-day service.

Business Benefits

  • We provided the managed service Energis sought, managing their business support systems development and support for 4 years
  • Successfully launched consumer, SME & corporate products in first year of operation generating revenue to secure on-going business.
  • Established quarterly release cycle, delivering all priority 1 & 2 requirements to schedule.
  • Established rapid pricing mechanism, allowing Energis to react quickly to market demands.
